The Bowling Green gymnastics team ended their five-meet win streak this weekend at Kalamazoo in a tri-meet with Western Michigan and Illinois-Chicago.

BG finished third in the meet behind Western Michigan (193.925) and Illinois-Chicago (191.150) with a 190.675.

This loss was the Falcons' first since January 9th in a tri-meet at the University of Michigan. Following the opening season meet, BG went on a tear defeating Northern Illinois, Western Michigan, Illinois-Chicago, Ball State, and Eastern Michigan before the streak ended last weekend.

Although the Falcons lost the meet, their biggest loss of the day was to a season-ending injury.

After winning game one of the doubleheader 3-2, BG finished the visiting Cardinals off 7-6 with a walk-off RBI single by senior shortstop Ryan Shay. Charles Wooten picked up the win, pitching the final two innings, allowing one earned run and striking out four. The win improved BG to 15-14 (6-4 MAC) for the season.

BG and Ball State will play game three of the series tomorrow at Steller Field.
