FIRST-TIMERS: Freshmen Allison Papenfuss and Chrissy Steffen saw their first collegiate action Friday night during the latter half of a 76-41 win against Chicago State in the first round of the Preseason WNIT.
Papenfuss played five minutes, scoring two points, grabbing one rebound and forcing two steals. Steffen played six minutes, dishing out an assist and grabbing one rebound.
Coach Curt Miller said he is considering redshirting Jessie Tamerlano.
NOT QUITE THE ENCORE: Junior transfer Maggie Hennegan opened her BG career with a double-double in an exhibition win against Findlay last week. She was unable to duplicate that performance Friday night, scoring two points and grabbing four rebounds in 24 minutes of play.
RING TIME: The 2008-09 Falcon squad received their Mid-American Conference regular season championship rings.
The winningest player in MAC history - Lindsay Goldsberry - was on hand and unveiled to the 2009 WNIT banner, drawing a standing ovation from the crowd.
