GET ON IN THERE: BG coach Louis Orr was pleased he was able to play all his players during a 67-45 win against Wayne State today.

Freshmen Jordan Crawford, Luke Kraus, A'uston Calhoun, Danny McElroy and James Erger all saw their first collegiate action this afternoon.

Crawford and McElroy saw the most action, as Crawford scored one point and had two assists in 17 minutes of play and McElroy scored five points, grabbed three rebounds but committed four turnovers in his 12 minutes of action.

Kraus made two free throws in his five minutes, Erger had a steal in his three minutes and Calhoun grabbed a rebound in his three minutes.

WHAT KIND OF GAME IS THIS?: For the Falcons, today's game was their season opener. However, the game was an exhibition for Wayne State. That occured because Division II rules don't allow regular season games before Nov. 15. WSU coach David Greer said that was the first time he remembers that happening.

SPEAKING OF GREER: Greer played four years for the Falcons before graduating from the University in 1983. He is the team's all-time assist leader with 768.

RINGS AND A BANNER:
The Falcons received their 2008-09 Mid-American Conference regular season championship rings today.

Of the three seniors on that team, only Darryl Clements was on hand for the ring ceremony. Because of that, he received the honor of unveiling the 2009 NIT banner that hangs in the rafters of Anderson Arena.

LOVE ME A HOME OPENER:
The Falcons have won 18 straight home openers.

STATS: For the Falcons, Scott Thomas led the team with 15 points, Otis Polk led the team with six rebounds, Joe Jakubowksi and Thomas led the with three assists and Thomas led the team with two steals.

For the Warriors, Jerry Oden led the team with 16 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.
