Prochaska update
Junior Lauren Prochaska has battled sickness this preseason.
"We just got her over flu and she got diagnosed that she really also had mono," Miller said.
After missing the first five practices, Prochaska returned for a couple days before having to sit out the past three or four practices. She did take the court for practice today.
"I'm doing pretty good now," Prochaska said.
She is expected to be back for the season-opener in the Preseason WNIT on Nov. 13.
Miller touched on his contract extension this afternoon, saying Bowling Green is not just a great place for basketball.
"It is a great place for women's basketball," MIller said. "The fans are fantastic. The community is an educated basketball community. The grass isn't always greener on the other side. Certainly, we think that we still have some things to accomplish here."
The immediate thing to accomplish is to win the 2010 Mid-American Conference Tournament.
Nurse, can you help me?
Senior transfer Tamika Nurse will be joining the Falcons on the court this season after sitting out last season, in compliance with NCAA transfer regulations.
Miller said Nurse's speed and defense are two things that should help the team win this year, calling her the fastest player he has seen in 20 years of coaching.
Point guard Tracy Pontius is also excited about having Nurse on the team, saying combing their speed will make a very strong backcourt.
